EXPLORE HOW OKUMA MACHINES HELPED INNOVATE INDUSTRIES
At GW Kewder Engineering in Melbourne north, there is no job too small and no job too big these days. Ten years ago Kewder added the MCR-A5C to their range which opened doors to many additional industries including mining and water. As demand for the larger capacity work increased, Kewder then added the MCR BII which not only increased the capacity of work potential but provided further efficiencies in operation. For example, one project for the Water industry is the manufacture of water valve gates for export. In the one operation, a particular component that previously took 4-5 hours, over 5 setups; now takes Kewder 1 hour.
"This not only saves time, but money and manual operations" - Derek Warrington, Managing Director GW Kewder Engineering.
Another fundamental advantage Okuma delivers all customers is our extraordinary range of small, high speed, high productivity machines right through to CNC Machining Centres with 6.5 meter long tables capable of up to 65 tonnes table load capacity. This opens immediate access to customers who do, or seek to do, a broad variety of work.
In this shot Kewder shows off the capacity of their second Okuma Double Column Machining Centre the MCR BII 30x65 that boasts a 2.5 meter wide and 6.5 meter long precision table.
